About Kim Hong Tran

This is a cheeky monkey girl!

She is unusually open and direct person who always looks for the perfection of life.  She unintentionally follows perfectionism and feels miserable sometime for it.

She was born in Hanoi by the day the US Army started to bomb this city, she was taken to the underground shelter while her mum was still in bed under the US Army attack.

She is a nationalist, she loves Vietnam and always wants to be proud of her country.  She does not like people who considers Vietnam as an uncivilized country and people who gives outsiders a chance to think so.

She always believes that there are many ways to achieve life/work targets providing that she can keep her flexibility and personal values. She had kept her dream of studying overseas for more than 10 years. By 2005, she got funded by British Government and British Council to pursue her dream.  She went to The University of Birmingham to study MSc. Poverty Reduction and Development Management.  This trip has opened a new world for her and she believes the best will always come for whom knows how to wait and try for it.  She is now doing PhD research in RMIT Melbourne in urban poverty and climate change.  She believes the path she has chosen will bring her to the happiness and meanings of her own life.

She loves fashion and is addicted to cosmetics and perfumes.  Ester Lauder is her main foundation, especially perfume.   Her shopping list is always everything that’s nice, sometime she can not refuse to buy herself a nice pair of shoes or a nice floral perfume or a trendy handbag.  She, however, puts on her clothes in a careless manner.  She thinks that outlook can not decide the value providing that she does not dress so backward or weird.

She has a lovable son who always cares to others and tries to make her pleased.  Her son has a so meaningful Vietnamese name that people always remember, Tam An ( serenity in heart), she gave him the name with hope he will have such a good life.  A good life is a life with full of serenity in heart and mind.

This blog has been established to record all what she thinks about life and what she enjoys/suffers from it.  It will be sometime in English and sometime in Vietnamese. Why bother? it’s because she wants to improve her writing in both languages.
